Swiss Re has announced the appointment of Iris Cheung as head of Life & Health Reinsurance for Hong Kong and Taiwan, effective 1 November 2026.
Cheung will lead the reinsurance firm’s Life & Health operations across both markets, focusing on expanding client partnerships and driving sustainable growth.
She succeeds Torben Swart, who has been named head of Technical & Operational Excellence for Life & Health Reinsurance.
Cheung brings over 20 years of experience in advisory, finance, strategy, operations, and client management to the role, including 15 years with Swiss Re.
Most recently, she served as Key Account Manager, managing several of the company’s major client relationships in the Asia-Pacific region.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, she worked in KPMG’s Risk Advisory team.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is a Certified Public Accountant registered with the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA).
