Policy includes counselling and relocation support for families facing online harassment.
Igloo has entered Türkiye through a partnership with Sigortayeri to distribute personal cyber insurance via Aktif Bank’s N Kolay app, marking its first expansion beyond Asia-Pacific.
The Personal Cyber product covers cyberbullying, identity theft, online fraud—including social engineering scams and online shopping fraud—cyber extortion, and compromised home devices and networks.
It also covers harassment on social media, messaging apps, gaming platforms and mobile phones, with benefits for counselling, professional security services when a family is at risk, and relocation when a family needs to move.
The premium costs about $43 and covers the policyholder’s spouse, children and parents living at the same address, as well as children aged up to 22 who are studying away from home.
The partnership makes the product available through N Kolay, which has eight million users. Igloo also plans to expand into the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa following its entry into Türkiye.
A crime victimisation survey by the Turkish Statistical Institute found that 3.5% of people aged 15 and over reported being victims of cybercrime in the preceding year.
Consumer fraud affected 2.8%, whilst 2.3% reported bank fraud. Only 27% of consumer fraud cases were reported, according to the survey.
Cyber incidents ranked second amongst business risks in Türkiye in the Allianz Risk Barometer 2026, accounting for 46%, up from seventh place a year earlier.
Meanwhile, insurance penetration stood at 2.62% of GDP at end-2025, against an industry target of 4.7% by 2030 set by the Insurance Association of Türkiye.
